HomeMy WebLinkAbout1992-188 CCR1 1 1 Member Dave Rosene introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 92 -188 RESOLUTION EXPRESSING APPRECIATION FOR THE 1992 PAINT -A -THON VOLUNTEERS FROM THE EARLE BROWN NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSING ADVISORY COMMITTEE, MARQUETTE BANK BROOKDALE, BROOKLYN CENTER HOUSING COMMISSION, AND CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER WHEREAS, the 1992 Metro Paint -A -Thon sponsored by the Aging Services Division of the Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches was a major volunteer effort to paint the homes of 388 modest income senior citizen and disabled adults throughout the seven county metropolitan area; and WHEREAS, the Paint -A -Thon relies totally on the efforts of volunteers to paint the homes eligible for the Paint -A -Thon program; and WHEREAS, a Paint -A -Thon team was organized in Brooklyn Center consisting of the following organizations and individuals: Marauette Bank Brookdale Karen DuCharme Ron Johnson Kim Kampa Tina Kampa Tammy Mercer Angus and Jo Bennett Deb and Grant Osman Kim Hondel (children James Hondel and Erin Hondel) Earle Brown Neiahborhood Housing Advisory Committee Robert Torres Pamela Frantum Everett Lindh Doug Rossi Brooklyn Center Housina Commission Nicholas Eoloff City of Brooklyn Center Councilmember Dave Rosene City Staff Matt Moore Dave Fisher 1 1 1 Resolution No. 92 -189 WHEREAS, by participating in the 1992 Paint -A -Thon, these individuals have contributed significantly to maintaining the quality of housing in the City of Brooklyn Center; and WHEREAS, it is highly appropriate that the efforts of these volunteers should be recognized by the City of Brooklyn Center. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that the work of the 1992 Brooklyn Center Paint -A -Thon volunteers is hereby recognized and appreciated as a valuable contribution to the residents of the City of Brooklyn Center.
