HomeMy WebLinkAbout1992-189 CCR1 1 Member Dave Rosene introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 92 -189 RESOLUTION EXPRESSING APPRECIATION FOR THE 1992 METRO PAINT -A -THON VOLUNTEERS FROM NORWEST BANK IN BROOKLYN CENTER WHEREAS, the 1992 Metro Paint -A -Thon sponsored by the Aging Services Division of the Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches was a major volunteer effort to paint the homes of 388 modest income senior citizen and disabled adults throughout the seven county metropolitan area; and WHEREAS, the Paint -A -Thon relies totally on the efforts of volunteers to paint the homes eligible for the Paint -A -Thon program; and WHEREAS, Norwest Bank in Brooklyn Center organized a Paint -A -Thon team to paint a home in Brooklyn Center and the team was comprised of the following individuals: Julie Kelvie, Team Leader Debbie Schneider Julie Smith Jody Menke Jim Rademacher Daniel Boese Pat Zollner Lisa Zollner Emily Solstad Robin Remington Mary Henderson Teri Smith Debbie Chelberg WHEREAS, by participating in the 1992 Paint -A -Thon, these individuals have contributed significantly to maintaining the quality of housing in the City of Brooklyn Center; and WHEREAS, it is highly appropriate that the efforts of the volunteers from Norwest Bank should be recognized by the City of Brooklyn Center. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that the work of the 1992 Paint -A -Thon volunteers from Norwest Bank Brookdale is hereby recognized and appreciated as a valuable contribution to the residents of the City of Brooklyn Center. 1 1 1 Resolution No. 92 -189 Auaust 10. 1992 Date ATTEST• CL Deputy Clerk T8d Paulson, Mayor The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Philip Cohen and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Todd Paulson, Celia Scott, Jerry Pedlar, Dave Rosene, and Philip Cohen; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
