HomeMy WebLinkAbout1992-036 CCR1 1 1 Member Celia Scott introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 92 36 RESOLUTION EXPRESSING SUPPORT OF HOUSE FILES 2003, 2004, AND 2005 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center has reviewed and discussed House Files 2003, 2004 and 2005; and WHEREAS, House File 2003 proposes to disallow any qualified residential interest in excess of $20,000 relating to income tax deduction disallowances and requires additional revenues due to this change be allocated to the Housing Assistance Account; and WHEREAS, House File 2004 requires the Commissioner of Finance, on the Governor's request, to sell up to $20,000,000 in state bonds and appropriates $20,000,000 to the Housing Finance Agency for loans or grants for the purposes of the Neighborhood Land Trust Program; and WHEREAS, House File 2005 creates an annual appropriation of funds in the Housing Assistance Account for housing revitalization 80% of the Housing Development Fund from state matching funds for federal Home Investment Partnership and 20% to the Housing Trust Fund account. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Brooklyn Center that the Council expresses support for House Files 2003, 2004 and 2005 as they represent an opportunity to enhance Brooklyn Center's ability to provide for revitalization of its residential neighborhoods and create funding opportunities to implement neighborhood revitalization plans.
