HomeMy WebLinkAbout1992-038 CCR1 Member Celia Scott resolution and moved its adoption: February 24, 1992 RESOLUTION NO. 92 -38 introduced the following RESOLUTION SUPPORTING A CULTURAL DIVERSITY TRAINING PROGRAM WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center continues to experience change and diversity in its demographic composition; and WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center has a commitment to excellence in service to its residents; and WHEREAS, understanding the needs of a diverse community is an important component to providing excellent public service, and; WHEREAS, the Cultural Diversity Training Program proposed by the Government Training Service and INTER -RACE will provide necessary training for the employees of the City of Brooklyn Center. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center hereby endorses the concept of cultural diversity training as expressed in the Government Training Service /INTER -RACE proposals, subject to City Council approval of a financing plan. Date Todd Paulson, Mayor 411 ATTEST: W Deputy Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Jerry Pedlar and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Todd Paulson, Celia Scott, Jerry Pedlar, Dave Rosene, and Philip Cohen; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
