Member Celia Scott introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 91 -85
RESOLUTION AMENDING THE 1991 GENERAL FUND BUDGET AND
APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A MICROCOMPUTER AND PRINTER
WHEREAS, Section 7.07 of the City Charter does provide that no
obligation shall be incurred for any purpose not in the approved budget
or for any amount in excess of the amount appropriated in the budget;
and
WHEREAS, The Finance Department has taken on significant
additional duties to provide accounting support for the Earle Brown
Heritage Center without adding any additional staff; and
WHEREAS, The addition of another microcomputer will allow the
automation of some accounting operations and thereby provide partial
relief from the added work load; and
WHEREAS, the MIS Coordinator estimates that the desired
computer, printer, and software can be purchased for $4,300.00; and
WHEREAS, sufficient funds are available in the Data Processing
Division 1991 capital outlay budget for this purchase because the cost
of microcomputer hardware has fallen since the budget was prepared.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that the sum of $4,300.00 be allocated
from the existing appropriation for Object #4551, Department 20 for the
purchase of a microcomputer, printer, and software.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly
seconded by member Jerry Pedlar and upon vote being taken
thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Todd Paulson, Celia Scott, Jerry Pedlar, Dave Rosene, and Philip Cohen;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
