resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 91 -107
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF
ONE (1) FIRE PUMPER /WATER TOWER AND TRANSFERRING
ADDITIONAL FUNDS FROM THE CONTINGENCY ACCOUNT
WHEREAS, an appropriation was approved in the 1991 budget
for the purchase of one (1) fire pumper /water tower; and
WHEREAS, $255,000 was originally appropriated for the
purchase of the fire pumper /water tower; and
WHEREAS, it is approved that two additions be made to the
equipment originally specified, said additions to cost an
additional $2,041.00; and
WHEREAS, the deletion of the 100% performance bond is
hereby approved; and
WHEREAS, three bids were received as follows:
Company Bid
General Safety Equipment Co. $269,748.00
MN Conway Fire and Safety $282,423.00
American LaFrance $292,991.00
WHEREAS, the total cost of the fire pumper /water tower is
$15,589 over the approved appropriation; and
WHEREAS, the transfer of $15,589 from the contingency
fund to the Fire Department budget is hereby approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Brooklyn Center that the purchase of one (1) fire
pumper /water tower from General Safety Equipment Company in the
amount of $269,748 is hereby approved.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly
seconded by member Philip Cohen and upon vote being taken
thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Todd Paulson, Celia Scott, Jerry Pedlar, Dave Rosene, and Philip Cohen;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
