HomeMy WebLinkAbout1991-124 CCR Member Celia Scott introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 91 -124 RESOLUTION AMENDING THE 1991 GENERAL FUND BUDGET FOR AN EXTERIOR DOOR FOR CITY HALL WHEREAS, Section 7.09 of the City Charter of the City of Brooklyn Center does provide for a contingency appropriation as a part of the General Fund Budget, and further provides that the contingency appropriation may be transferred to any other appropriation by the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center employee safety committee recently reviewed an employee concern regarding the potential collision hazard that exists for people using the exterior door at the southeast entranceway to city hall; and WHEREAS, the safety committee recommended the replacement of the existing door with a reverse opening door to reduce the risk for collisions and because the door is old, rusty, and showing wear; and WHEREAS, this is a high usage door, especially for police personnel who transport prisoners and delivery people and maintenance employees who move large quantities of supplies through this door; and WHEREAS, the purchase of a new door is estimated to not exceed $1,500. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center to amend the 1991 General Fund Budget as follows: Increase the Appropriations for the following line items: Government Buildings Account No. 4520 $1,500.00 Decrease the Appropriations for the following line items: Unallocated Expenses Contingency Account No. 4995 $1,500.00 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the purchase price of a door for the southeast entranceway to city hall shall not exceed $1,500.00.
