HomeMy WebLinkAbout1991-065 CCR1 Member Celia Scott introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 91 -65 NORTH METRO MAYORS ASSOCIATION EMERGENCY ACTION REQUEST REGARDING TOLL ISSUE WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center joins with its sister cities in the North Metro area in supporting the construction of the North Metro T.H.610 /T.H.10 Crosstown project; and WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center believes that the North Metro T.H.610 /T.H.10 Crosstown project is the highest priority transportation project for the North Metro area; and WHEREAS, the communities of the North Metro area have waited for the North Metro T.H.610 /T.H.10 Crosstown project to reach the top of the transportation priority list for the past fifteen years; and WHEREAS, the North Metro T.H.610 /T.H.10 Crosstown project is a critical piece of east -west access for the entire North Metro area; and WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center supports the construction of the North Metro T.H.610 /T.H.10 Crosstown project from traditional funding sources; and WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center joins with other North Metro cities in their unanimous opposition to the proposal to build the North Metro T.H.610 /T.H.10 Crosstown project as a toll road; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Brooklyn Center supports the construction of the North Metro T.H.610 /T.H.10 Crosstown project at the earliest possible time, and ti. said project not be constructed as a toll road. ATTEST: February 25, 1991 Date a.p_tt Deputy p Y f Todd Paulsdn, olayor The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Jerry Pedlar and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Todd Paulson, Celia Scott, Jerry Pedlar, Dave Rosene, and Philip Cohen; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
