Member Kay Lasman introduced the following resolution and moved its
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE REPLACEMENT OF THE CITY
TELEPHONE AND VOICE MAIL SYSTEM BY JOINING THE LOGIS IP
TELEPHONY SERVICE AND ACQURING HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE
OFF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA CONTRACT AT A COST NOT TO EXCEED
THE BUDGETED AMOUNT OF $223,200
WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center has been a member of LOGIS, a joint
powers agreement association, since its inception in 1972; and
WHEREAS, the City Council approved the 2009 Budget which included $223,200
for the replacement of the telephone and voice mail systems; and
WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota encourages all municipalities to utilize the
State's contract available under the Cooperative Purchasing Venture; and
ATTEST:
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to have IP Telephony Services from
LOGIS and purchase hardware and software off the State of Minnesota Contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that the Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to
join the LOGIS IP Telephony Service and acquire hardware and software off the State of Minnesota
Contract at a cost not to exceed the budgeted amount of $223,200.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member
Dan Ryan
and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Tim Willson, Kay Lasman, Tim Roche, Dan Ryan, and Mark Yelich;
and the following voted against the same: none;
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
