HomeMy WebLinkAbout1989-138 CCR1 1 Member Jerry Pedlar introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 89 -138 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING PROJECT, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 1989 -18, GEOMETRIC IMPROVEMENTS ON SHINGLE CREEK PARKWAY AT BROOKDALE SQUARE ENTRANCE (MSA PROJECT NO. 109 109 -25) WHEREAS, the City Engineer has prepared plans and specifications for the improvement project listed below and has presented such plans and specifications to the City Council for approval: GEOMETRIC IMPROVEMENTS ON SHINGLE CREEK PARKWAY AT BROOKDALE SQUARE ENTRANCE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 1 989 -18 AND WHEREAS, by separate resolution the City Council has approved an agreement with the owners of property against which special assessments will be levied. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that: 1. The improvement is hereby ordered as proposed. 2. The plans and specifications for the following improvement as prepared by the City Engineer are approved and ordered filed with the City Clerk: GEOMETRIC IMPROVEMENTS ON SHINGLE CREEK PARKWAY AT BROOKDALE SQUARE ENTRANCE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 1989 -18 3. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted at least twice in the official newspaper and in the Construction Bulletin an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvement under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published as required by law, shall specify the work to be done, shall state that said bids will be received by the City Clerk until the date and time specified, at which time they will be publicly opened at City Hall by the City Clerk and the City Engineer. Subsequently, the bid shall be tabulated and will then be considered by the City Council at a meeting of the City Council. The advertisement shall state that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for 5 percent of the total amount of such bid. Any bidder whose responsibility is questioned during consideration of the bid will be given an opportunity to address the Council on the issue of responsibility. 1 1 RESOLUTION NO. 89 -138 4. Clerk $59,204 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Todd Paulson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Celia Scott, Todd Paulson, and Jerry Pedlar; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
