HomeMy WebLinkAbout1989-019 CCR1 1 Member Todd Paulson its adoption: A RESOLUTION INITIATING THE PREPARATION OF A DISCRETIONARY ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT WORKSHEET (EAW) FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF WEST RIVER ROAD FROM 66TH AVENUE NORTH TO 73RD AVENUE NORTH AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF A MULTIPLE USE TRAIL ALONG WEST RIVER ROAD AND WILLOW LANE FROM 1 -694 TO 73RD AVENUE NORTH WHEREAS, the Minnesota Code of Agency Rules has been established for the Environmental Quality Board which administers the Environmental Review Program (Rules 6 MCAR SS 3.021- 3.056); and WHEREAS, the purpose of the Minnesota Environmental Review Program is to provide information to decision makers which allows them to incorporate environmental protection into the planning and design of projects that may have significant impacts on environmental resources; and WHEREAS, the Rules permit the preparation of a discretionary Environmental Assessment Worksheet when a project does not fall under the mandatory EAW requirements, yet the project is not exempt under 6 MCAR S 3.041 and when a governmental unit with approval authority over the proposed project determines that, because of the nature or location of a proposed project, the project may have the potential for significant environmental effects; and WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center, who is the governmental unit with approval authority over the proposed project, believes that the potential environmental effects should be reviewed. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Brooklyn Center initiates the preparation of a discretionary Environmental Assessment Worksheet and is designated the Responsible Governmental Unit (RGU) for this process. ATTEST: February 13, 1989 Date Clerk introduced the following resolution and moved RESOLUTION NO. 89 -19 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Gene Lhotka and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Gene Lhotka, Jerry Pedlar, and Todd Paulson; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
