HomeMy WebLinkAbout1989-076 CCRRESOLUTION NO. 89 -76 Member Jerry Pedlar introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION AMENDING THE 1989 GENERAL FUND BUDGET AND ACCEPTING PROPOSAL TO CONDUCT PRELIMINARY DESIGN STUDY FOR DEVELOPMENT OF PROPERTIES ADJOINING THE TWIN LAKES AREA FOR PARK AND RECREATIONAL PURPOSES WHEREAS, Section 7.09 of the City Charter of the City of Brooklyn Center does provide for a contingency appropriation as a part of the General Fund Budget, and further provides that the contingency appropriation may be transferred to any other appropriation by the City Council; and WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center Parks and Recreation Commission has recommended that a preliminary study be conducted for development of certain properties adjoining the Twin Lakes area for park and recreational purposes; and WHEREAS, Westwood Professional Services Inc. has submitted a proposal to conduct the desired feasibility study at a total estimated fee of $9600.00. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota: 1. That the 1988 General Fund Budget be amended as follows: Increase the Aonrooriations for the following line items: Recreation and Parks Administration No. 61, Object No. 4310 $9600.00 Decrease the Avnronriations for the following line items: Unallocated Dept. Expense No. 80, Object No. 4995 $9600.00 2. That the proposal submitted by Westwood Professional Services Inc. is hereby accepted and approved. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract with said firm to conduct the proposed study in accordance with the proposal.
