HomeMy WebLinkAbout1988-162 CCR1 1 1 Member Celia Scott introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION APPROVING A $79,000 PROPERTY TAX LEVY FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE COST OF OPERATION, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF MSA 462.411 THROUGH 462.711, OF THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER FOR THE YEAR 1989 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center is the governing body of the City of Brooklyn Center; and WHEREAS, the City Council has received a resolution from the Economic Development Authority of the City of Brooklyn Center entitled a "Resolution Establishing the Tax Levy of the Brooklyn Center Economic Development Authority for the Year 1989 and WHEREAS, the City Council, pursuant to the provisions of MSA 462.545, Subdivision 6, must by resolution consent to the proposed tax levy of the Economic Development Authority of the City of Brooklyn Center: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that a special tax be levied upon all real and personal property within the City of Brooklyn Center in the amount of $79,000, but not to exceed one -third of a mill. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the said property tax levy, to be used for the operation of the Brooklyn Center Economic Development Authority pursuant to the provisions of MSA 462.411 through 462.711, be certified for tax levy to the County Auditor of Hennepin County on or before October 25, 1988.
