HomeMy WebLinkAbout1988-043 CCRMember Gene Lhotka introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: WHEREAS, Section 7.09 of the City Charter of the City of Brooklyn Center does provide for a contingency appropriation as a part of the General Fund Budget, and further provides that the contingency appropriation may be transferred to any other appropriation by the City Council; and WHEREAS, the adoption of the 1987 General Fund Budget recognized the need to establish a equipment replacement appropriation in the Community Center budget which would be used to replace equipment which might unexpectedly break down during the budget year and which was essential to the continued operation of the recreation programs; and WHEREAS, the amount of $4,000 was appropriated in the 1987 Budget for that purpose with the intent to continue the appropriation on an annual basis, and; WHEREAS, the appropriation was inadvertently omitted from the Department's 1988 budget request and therefore was not included in the 1988 Budget appropriations; and WHEREAS, the funds are now needed to replace a cash register in the amount of $2,500 and may be needed to replace other equipment during the year. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota that the 1988 General Fund Budget be amended to appropriate funds for equipment replacement in the Community Center as follows: Community Center Other Equipment Account No. 4552 Unallocated Departmental Expenses Contingency Account No. 4995 March 14, 1988 Date Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Celia Scott and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Gene Lhotka, Celia Scott, Bill Hawes, and Rich Theis; and the following voted against the same: none, ATTEST: Increase the Appropriations for the following line items: RESOLUTION NO. 88 -43 RESOLUTION AMENDING THE 1988 GENERAL FUND BUDGET Decrease the Appropriations for the following line items: whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. $4,000 $4,000
