resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION APPROVING ADJUSTMENTS TO THE 1987 BUDGET OF
THE NORTH METRO CONVENTION AND TOURISM BUREAU
WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center has entered into
an agreement with the North Metro Convention and Tourism Bureau;
and
WHEREAS, the agreement provides that "the budget may be
modified without prior consent of the City Council, providing
that any adjustments shall not be greater than ten percent of the
amount indicated for that item as it appears in the budget and
WHEREAS, the original 1987 budget was based on an
average three percent tax income, and after the first six months
of 1987 the budget was adjusted downward because of lower than
expected income received; and
WHEREAS, since that time, the tax income has risen
sharply and made additional funds available; and
WHEREAS, the adjustment of certain items of the budget
to reflect the increased income is greater than ten percent of
the amount indicated for those items as they appear in the
budget; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the North Metro
Convention and Tourism Bureau, at its meeting of October 14,
1987, approved the attached budget; and
WHEREAS, the adjusted budget reflects appropriate and
needed changes in the various categories while maintaining the
requirement that the Bureau not expend any sums beyond its
revenues.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, requisite prior consent
be given to the proposed adjusted bu of the North Metro
Convention and Tourism Bureau.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly
seconded by member Bill Hawes and upon vote being taken
thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist,
Gene Lhotka, Celia Scott, Bill Hawes, and Rich Theis;
and the following voted, against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
