HomeMy WebLinkAbout1987-163 CCR1 1 Member Bill Hawes introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 87 163 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND APPROVING CONTRACT FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 1985 -12, DALLAS ROAD REPAIR BETWEEN 72ND AND 73RD AVENUE NORTH (CONTRACT 1987 -K1 WHEREAS, a three phase procedure has been established to repair pavement deficiencies on Dallas Road between 72nd and 73rd Avenue; and WHEREAS, Phase I has been completed and Phase II could not be completed; and WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for Phase III of Improvement Project No. 1985 -12, bids were received, opened, and tabulated by the City Clerk and Engineer, on the 6th day of August, 1987. Said bids were as follows: Bidder Valley Paving, Inc. H.L. Johnson Company Preferred Paving, Inc. Alber Construction, Inc. Bid Amount $53,773.81 $62,908.00 $64,067.00 $69,045.00 WHEREAS, it appears the Valley Paving, Inc. of New Brighton, Minnesota, is the lowest responsible bidder. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota: 1. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to enter into the attached contract, in the amount of $53,773.81 with Valley Paving, Inc. of New Brighton, Minnesota in the name of the City of Brooklyn Center, for Improvement Project No. 1985 -12 according to the plans and specifications therefor approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk. 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposit of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. 1 1 RESOLUTION NO. 87 -163 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that: 1. The estimated cost of the three phases of Improvement Project No. 1985 -12 is hereby amended according to the following schedule: Phase Description I Repair or replacement of currently deteriorated sections September, 1986 $14,500 .00 $12,164.00 II Monitoring and testing May, 1987 $1,500.00 $0.00 III Reconstruction August, 1987 Contract $40,000.00 $53,773.81 Technical Services Consultant $2,000.00 $2,000.00 August 10, 1987 Date ATTEST: _Q 11,H Clerk Total Phase III Total Project Cost Estimated Cost 2. The estimated costs to be financed as follows: Estimated Cost Contractor Share of Phase I $2,500.00 MSA Accounts 2611 (Restricted Reserve) Total Project Revenue $55,500.00 $65,840.81 $58,000.00 $67,937.81 $42,000.00 $55,773.81 $58,000.00 $67,937.81 As Bid As Bid $2,097.00 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Celia Scott and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Celia Scott, Bill Hawes, and Rich Theis; and the following voted against the same: Gene,Lhotka, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
