RESOLUTION APPROVING CHANGE ORDER RELATING TO THE
REHABILITATION OF THE EXISTING PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE AT THE
CENTERBROOK GOLF COURSE (IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 1985 -23,
PHASE I: CONTRACT 1986 -C1
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has advised the City Council that
the plans prepared for the rehabilitation of the existing pedestrian bridge at
the Centerbrook Golf Course are structurally inadequate, and recommends that
Contract 1986 -C be amended to provide for the rehabilitation of this bridge
based on revised, structurally sound plans; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has negotiated a proposed Change
Order with Shafer Contracting Company, Inc. to rehabilitate said bridge on the
basis of revised plans at a total cost of $30,843.75 in lieu of the contract
price of $20,000 based on the old plans; i.e. an increase of $10,843.75; and
WHEREAS, the City Council determines that it is necessary to provide a
structurally adequate bridge at this location:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of
Brooklyn Center, Minnesota that the Change Order to Contract 1986 -C, providing
for the rehabilitation of the pedestrian bridge at a total cost of $30,843.75 in
lieu of the $20,000 cost for the rehabilitation of this bridge based on the
original plans is hereby approved. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby
authorized and directed to execute said Change Order on behalf of the City of
Brooklyn Center.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
member Bill Hawes and upon vote being taken thereon, the following
voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Celia Scott, Bill Hawes, and Rich Theis;
and the following voted against the same: Gene Lhotka,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
