HomeMy WebLinkAbout1986-143 CCR1 1 1 Member Gene Lhotka resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 86 -143 introduced the following RESOLUTION EXPRESSING RECOGNITION OF AND APPRECIATION FOR THE DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVICE OF MARY ELLEN RABINE WHEREAS, Mary Ellen Rabine served as a member of the Brooklyn Center Human Rights Commission from January, 1982 through September, 1986; and WHEREAS, as a member of the Brooklyn Center Human Rights Commission, she played an instrumental role in the formation of the Brooklyn Center Domestic Assault Intervention Project; and WHEREAS, she represented the Brooklyn Center Human Rights Commission on the Year 2000 Committee and provided input particularly in the issue area of single parent households; and WHEREAS, her devotion to the of the Commission contributed to development of the City; and WHEREAS, her public service betterment of the community merit the of Brooklyn Center; and September 8, 1986 Date ATTEST: ,/1 Clerk tasks and responsibilities the sound progress and and civic effort for the gratitude of the citizens WHEREAS, it is highly appropriate that her service to the community should be recognized and expressed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that the dedicated public service of Mary Ellen Rabine as a member of the Human Rights Commission is hereby recognized and appreciated by the City of Brookl Center. May The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Rich Theis and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Gene Lhotka, Celia Scott, Bill Hawes, and Rich Theis; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
