HomeMy WebLinkAbout1986-187 CCR1 1 1 Member Bill Hawes and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE BROOKLYN CENTER VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT TO USE A CERTAIN HOUSE IN THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER FOR TRAINING PURPOSES WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center Volunteer Fire Department has requested the Brooklyn Center City Council to authorize the use of a house within the City of Brooklyn Center for the purpose of burning for Fire Department training; and WHEREAS, training drills are essential to maintain the effectiveness of the Brooklyn Center Volunteer Fire Department; and WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center HRA owns this house and has given the Fire Department permission to use the house for training contingent on authorization for such use by the Brooklyn Center City Council; and WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center Volunteer Fire Department has requested the Brooklyn Center City Council to authorize the use of the house for training purposes through November 15, 1986; and WHEREAS, the subject house is located at 1500 55th Avenue North within the City of Brooklyn Center. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center hereby authorizes the use of the house by the Brooklyn Center Volunteer Fire Department, for training purposes through November 15, 1986. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that except for negligent acts of the State, its agents and employees, the City of Brooklyn Center assumes all liability for, and will save the State, its agents and employees harmless from all claims for damages, actions or causes of action arising out of the use of the subject building by the City for Fire Department training. Hawes, and Rich Theis; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
