RESOLUTION NO. 86 -30
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND APPROVING CONTRACT FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF CENTERBROOK GOLF COURSE (PROJECT NO. 1985 -23,
CONTRACT 1986 -C)
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for Improvement Project
No. 1985 -23, bids were received, opened, and tabulated by the City Clerk and
Engineer, on the 4th day of February, 1986. Said bids were as follows:

WHEREAS, it appears the Shafer Contracting Company, Inc. of Shafer,
Minnesota, is the lowest responsible bidder.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of
Brooklyn Center, Minnesota:
1. Subject to receipt of a permit from the Minnesota Department of
Transportation to construct part of the golf course on State
property, as requested by City council Resolution No. 85 -205 on
November 18, 1985, the Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized
and directed to enter into the attached contract, in the amount of
$973,975.25 with Shafer Contract Company, Inc. of Shafer, Minnesota
in the name of the City of Brooklyn Center, for Improvement Project
No. 1985 -23 according to the plans and specifications therefor
approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City
Clerk.
2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return
forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except
that the deposit of the successful bidder and the next lowest
bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that:
1. The estimated cost of Improvement Project No. 1985 -23 is hereby
amended according to the following schedule:
a. Contract 1986 -C (as per low bid from Shafer
Contracting Company, Inc.) 973,975

b. Building construction contract for construction of
clubhouse, Little League buildings, dugouts, etc.
(as per 2/18/86 estimate from Brauer Assoc.) 299,000
C. Work by C.S. McCrossan (equipment rental and
placement of erosion control fencing as per
Resolutions 85 213 and 85 250) 26,165
d. Brauer Associates Consulting fees:

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
member Celia Scott and upon vote being taken thereon, the following
voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Gene Lhotka, Celia Scott, Bill Hawes,
and Rich Theis;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
