HomeMy WebLinkAbout1986-066 CCRMember Rich Theis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 86 -66 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING PROJECT, ORDERING IMPROVEMENT, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR EARLE BROWN FARM TAX INCREMENT DISTRICT PHASE I STREETSCAPE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 1986 -09. CONTRACT 1986 -H WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center is developing the Earle Brown Farm Tax Increment District; and WHEREAS, the adopted plan for that Tax Increment District provides for certain Streetscape Improvements; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer has developed plans and specifications for the construction of Phase I of those improvements: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that: 1. The following project is hereby established: EARLE BROWN FARM TAX INCREMENT DISTRICT, PHASE I STREETSCAPE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 1986 -09 2. The plans and specifications for said improvement project prepared by the City Engineer are hereby approved and ordered filed with the City Clerk. 3. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted at least once in the official newspaper and in the Construction Bulletin an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvement under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall appear not less than fourteen (14) days prior to the date for receipt of bids, and specify the work to be done, state that said bids will be received by the City Clerk until 11:00 A.M. on May 15, 1986, at which time they will be publicly opened in the Council Chambers at City Hall by the City Clerk and City Engineer, will then be tabulated and will be considered by the City Council within the time period established by the specifications for consideration of bids. No bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for 5 percent of the amount of such bid. 4. Funding for this improvement project shall be provided by the Brooklyn Center Housing and Redevelopment Commission from the Tax Imcrement District. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to prepare an agreement for this purpose between the City of Brooklyn Center and the Brooklyn Center Housing and Redevelopment Commission. 1 11 RESOLUTION NO. 86 -66 April 21, 1986 Cam Date Mayo ATTEST: J/, X, Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Celia Scott and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Gene Lhotka, Celia Scott, Bill Hawes, and Rich Theis; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
