HomeMy WebLinkAbout1985-248 CCRMember Rich Theis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO 85 248 RESOLUTION TO TRANSFER AN UNEXPENDED APPROPRIATION FOR A COMMAND CENTER VAN AND WARNING SIREN FROM THE 1985 BUDGET TO THE 1986 BUDGET WHEREAS, Section 7.08 of the Brooklyn Center City Charter authorizes the City Council to appropriate funds from accumulated surplus in an amount equal to a previous appropriation in the General Fund Budget, if not in fact expended or encumbered for that purpose in the previous fiscal year; and WHEREAS, the City Council appropriated funds in the amount of $59,000 for a Command Center Van and $17,301 for a Civil Defense Warning Siren in the 1985 General Fund Budget; and WHEREAS, there was a delay in acquiring the van and the siren is not yet ready for installation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota to amend the 1986 General Fund Budget to appropriate $36,652 to the Emergency Preparedness (Division No. 34), Mobile Equipment Account No. 4553, and $1,214 to the Other Equipment Account No. 4552, from the General Fund Balance to equip the van and install the siren in 1986; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED to amend the 1985 General Fund Budget to decrease the appropriations for said purposes by the same amount.
