HomeMy WebLinkAbout1985-158 CCRMember Gene Lhotka introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 85 -158 RESOLUTION AMENDING THE 1985 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO PROVIDE FOR THE PURCHASE OF A POLICE DEPARTMENT ELECTRONIC TIME RECORDER I] WHEREAS, Section 7.08 of the City Charter does provide for the transfer of unencumbered appropriation balances from one department to another within the same Fund; and WHEREAS, funds are available in the Federal Revenue Sharing Fund in the amount of at least $2,336 to be transferred for General Fund use; and WHEREAS, since it was recently determined that the City is subject to the Fair Labor Standards Act, there is a need for an electronic time recorder in the Police Department to more accurately record hours worked; and WHEREAS, the purchase of said time recorder was not budgeted for in the 1985 General Fund Budget: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center to amend the 1985 General Fund Budget as follows: Increase the Police Capital Outlay Budget Appropriation for Other Equipment, Account No. 4552, by $2,336; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the increased appropriation shall be financed by federal revenue sharing funds and that funds in the Federal Revenue Sharing Fund shall be encumbered in the amount of $2,336; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the actual transfer of funds will be made from the Federal Revenue Sharing Fund to the General Fund on a reimbursement basis at such time, and by Council resolution when the General Fund has expended funds for the appropriation authorized.
