RESOLUTION NO. 85 -124
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND APPROVING CONTRACT
1985 -J (PAINTING IN THE CIVIC CENTER AND AT THE
MUNICIPAL GARAGE, PROJECT NO. 1985 -17)

WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for
Improvement Project No. 1985 -17, bids were received, opened, and
tabulated by the City Clerk and Engineer, on the 25th day of
June, 1985. Said bids were as follows:

WHEREAS, it appears the J M Painting and Decorating,
Inc. of St. Paul, Minnesota, is the lowest responsible bidder for
specified painting at the City Hall and at the Community Center;
and
RESOLUTION NO. 85 -124
WHEREAS, it appears that J.M.G. Contracting Company of
Minneapolis, Minnesota is the lowest responsible bidder for
specified painting at the Municipal Garage.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of
the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota:
1. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and
directed to enter into the attached contract, in the
amount of $24,093.00 with J M Painting and
Decorating of St. Paul, Minnesota for painting at
the City Hall and at the Community Center according
to plans and specifications therefore approved by
the City Council and on file in the office of the
City Clerk.
2. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and
directed to enter into the attached contract, in the
amount of $4,250.00 with J.M.G. Contracting Company
of Minneapolis, Minnesota for painting at the City
Garage according to plans and specifications
therefore approved by the City Council and on file
in the office of the City Clerk.
3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made
with their bids, except that the deposit of the
successful bidder and the next lowest bidder for
each section of the project shall be retained until
a contract has been signed.
4. All costs for Project No. 1985 -17 shall be charged
to the 1985 Operating budget for Capital outlay in
the General Fund. Costs for painting at City Hall
and at the Municipal Garage shall be charged to the
Government Buildings Division. Costs for painting
at the Community Center shall be charged to the
Community Center Division.

RESOLUTION NO. 85 -124
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded
by member Rich Theis and upon vote being taken thereon, the following
voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Gene Lhotka, Celia Scott, Bill Hawes,
and Rich Theis;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
