HomeMy WebLinkAbout1985-011 CCRMember Gene Lhotka introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 85 -11 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL TO IMPLEMENT THE SOLAR BANK DEFERRED LOAN PROGRAM WITHIN THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center desires to assist families and individuals in making energy improvements for the purpose of increasing the energy efficiency of their homes; and WHEREAS, the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency has funds to be used for such purposes, and will contract with the Metropolitan Council to administer these Solar Bank Deferred Loan Funds; and WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has been designated a housing and redevelopment authority pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 473.195 with the powers and duties of a housing and redevelopment authority under the provisions of the Minnesota�Housing and Redevelopment Authority Act; and WHEREAS, under the provisions of Minnesota Statutes Section 473.195, the Metropolitan Council must obtain the approval of the governing body of any municipality in which it proposed to implement the Solar Bank Deferred Loan Program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Brooklyn Center hereby authorizes the Metropolitan Council to implement the Solar Bank Deferred Loan Program for the purpose of increasing the energy efficiency of homes in the City of Brooklyn Center and that the City Manager, Gerald G. Splinter, is hereby authorized to enter into any necessary agreement with the Metropolitan Council for operating the program within the City. January 14, 1985 Date ATTEST: The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Rich Theis and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyqui_st, Gene Lhotka, Celia Scott, Bill Hawes, and Rich Theis; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. �i
