HomeMy WebLinkAbout1984-091 CCRMember Celia Scott introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 84 -91 RESOLUTION AMENDING THE 1984 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO PROVIDE FOR WAGE AND SALARY ADJUSTMENTS 4•►. y—+►. ►.n.►+►--.r--w.►+►.�rw.r.rr r.► WHEREAS, Section 7.08 of the City Charter of the City of Brooklyn Center does provide that the City Council may, by majority vote of its members, transfer unencumbered appropriation balances from one office, department, or agency to another within the same fund; and WHEREAS, Section 7.08 of the City Charter does also provide for the increase of a budget appropriation by the City Council if the actual receipts exceed the estimates, but not to exceed the actual receipts; and WHEREAS, Section 7.09 of the City Charter does provide for a contingency appropriation as a part of the General Fund Budget, and further provides that the contingency appropriation may be transferred to any other appropriation by the City Council; and WHEREAS, on October 3, 1983, the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center adopted a budget for the calendar year 1984; and WHEREAS, when said budget was adopted, 1984 salaries and wages for some City employees had not been set; and WHEREAS, the City Council did appropriate funds for departmental labor and fringe benefits in the amount of $213,453 to Unallocated Departmental Expense (Department #80) to provide funds for 1984 salary and wage settlements; and WHEREAS, all wages and salaries for the calendar year 1984 have now been set by the Council; and WHEREAS, since the adoption of the 1984 Budget, a reorganization of certain employee positions within the Department of Public Works has been approved by the City Council; and WHEREAS, said reorganization did eliminate one position whose salary had been paid in part by the Public Utilities Fund and replaced it with a position whose salary is to be paid from the General Fund Budget and to be reimbursed from the Public Utility Fund: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center to transfer $213,453 from the following Unallocated Departmental Expense (Department #80) appropriations: i,�.� it 01 -4100 Salaries, Regular Flnployees 184,126 01 -4141 PERA Regula- 2,079 01 -4142 PE M-Ccmbined 4,807 01 -4143 PERK -Police 6,849 01 -•4144 Social Security 6,253 01-4151 Hospitalization Insurance 9,032 01 -4152 Life Ins►aram 161 01 -4157 Deferred Compensation 146 213,453; aid Increase the amxxnt of acininistrative services to be reimwsed by the Public Utilities Rrid in the arxxxrt of $26,353; and Transfer $13,536 frrm the Contirge -cy Appropriation; and Increase the following departmntal cr divisional appropriations in the total amm nt of $253,342 as follows: Depart- Salaries Salaries Salaries PERA PERA PERA Health Life meet or Regular Overtime Ter4pora^y Regular Ccntined Police FICA koxmce Insurance Division 4100 4112 4130 4141 4142 4143 4144 4151 4152 Other Manager 11,5 0 0 0 401 0 511 1,244 20 234(1) Elections 364 0 0 0 20 0 26 72 0 0 Assessing 5,159 0 0 0 284 0 361 828 -►7 0 Finance 13,444 0 0 725 360 0 458 1,728 -16 0 Govt.
