moved its adoption:
II/ RESOLUTION NO. 84 -21
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A CONCRETE
ROUTING AND JOINT CTRANING MACHINE
WHEREAS, Chapter 471.345 of the Minnesota Statutes provides for the
purchase of merchandise, materials or equipment, or any other kind of construction
work by informal quotations when the amount of such contract is less than $15,000;
and
WHEREAS, the city's purchasing policy requires the City Council to award
purchases between $5,000 through $14,999 upon recommendation of the City Manager;
and
WHEREAS, the purchase of the concrete routing and joint cleaning machine
is authorized by the 1984 City Budget (Street Construction and Maintenance Unit #42);
and
WHEREAS, the Tennant Company, Inc. is the only manufacturer of the concrete
routing and joint cleaning machine; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has obtained a quotation for the purchase of the
concrete routing and joint cleaning machine from the Tennant Company, Inc., Minneapolis,
Minnesota in the amount of $7,996 and has advised the City Council that it is in the
best interest of the City to accept said quotation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn
Center that the City Manager be authorized to contract for the purchase of a concrete
routing and joint cleaning machine in the amount of $7,996 from the Tennant Company,
Inc., Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The motion for th6'adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
member Rich Theis and upon vote being taken thereon, the following
voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Gene Lhotka, Celia Scott, Bill Hawes,
and Rich Theis;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
