HomeMy WebLinkAbout1982-042 CCR Member Gene Lhotka introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 82 -42 RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING MARCH AS YOUTH ART MONTH IN BROOKLYN CENTER WHEREAS, Youth Art Month has been observed nationally since 1961 and has gained wide acceptance; and WHEREAS, children are our most priceless asset; and WHEREAS, childhood is the time to develop interests, skills and aptitudes that will last a lifetime; and WHEREAS, the importance of art in education is recognized as being necessary for the full development of all children. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that March be observed as Youth Art Month and that all citizens are urged to become interested in and give full support to quality school art programs for children and youth. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the students of Evergreen School are hereby commended for their participation in and contribution to Youth Art Month. III March 8, 1982 982 Date May./ lir Av., ATTEST: L c The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Celia Scott and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Gene Lhotka, Celia Scott, Bill Hawes, and Rich Theis; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. 1
