HomeMy WebLinkAbout1981-137 CCR Member Celia Scott introduced the following resolution III and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 81 -137 RESOLUTION EXPRESSING RECOGNITION OF AND APPRECIATION FOR THE DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVICE OF FRANK "CAP" SMITH, JR. WHEREAS, Frank "Cap" Smith, Jr. served the City of Brooklyn Center as an employee for more than twenty -six years from July 8, 1955 to July 31, 1981; and WHEREAS, he served in the position of Public Utility Superintendent for the City of Brooklyn Center; and WHEREAS, he was instrumental in the implementation and growth of the water and sewer system in Brooklyn Center; and WHEREAS, he retired from public service on July 31, 1981; and WHEREAS, his devotion to the tasks and responsibilities associated with his position contributed substantially to the sound progress and development of the City; and WHEREAS, his dedication to his position as Public Utility Superin- tendent has contributed greatly to the efficient administration of the City; and WHEREAS, his public service and civic effort for the betterment of the community merit the gratitude of the citizens of Brooklyn Center: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Brooklyn Center, that the dedicated public service of Frank "Cap" Smith, Jr. is recognized and appreciated by the City of Brooklyn Center and that the City wishes him a long and happy retirement. Jul 27 1981 Da May.r ATTEST: t 11110.111,11' FA II PM Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Gene Lhotka and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar, Gene Lhotka, and Celia Scott; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
