RESOLUTION NO. 81 -146
RESOLUTION COMMENDING COUNCILMEMBER CELIA SCOTT AND CITY
MANAGER GERALD SPLINTER FOR THEIR SERVICE ON THE NORTHWEST
SUBURBS CABLE COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the Northwest Suburbs Cable Communications Commission,
composed of nine cities in the northwest suburban area of Hennepin County,
is charged with the responsibility to study, prepare, adopt, grant, administer
and enforce a single nonexclusive cable communications franchise in member
municipalities; and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Celia Scott and City Manager Gerald Splinter
serve as Directors on the Northwest Suburbs Cable Communications Commission
representing the City of Brooklyn Center; and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Celia Scott and City Manager Gerald Splinter
devoted many hours of their personal time to the Commission and to the goal
of bringing cable television to Brooklyn Center and the northwest suburban
area; and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Celia Scott and City Manager Gerald Splinter
contributed substantially to the Northwest Suburbs Cable Communications
Commission cable television franchising process which was an exemplary process.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center that the service of Councilmember Celia Scott and City Manager
Gerald Splinter in representing the City of Brooklyn Center on the Northwest
Suburbs Cable Communications Commission is recognized and appreciated.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
member Tony Kuefler and upon vote being taken thereon, the following
voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Tony Kuefler, And, Bi]1.Fgnar;:
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
