RESOLUTION NO. 81 -190

RESOLUTION REQUESTING SUPPORT FOR THE NORTHWEST HENNEPIN
HUMAN SERVICES COUNCIL
WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center is a member of the Northwest
Hennepin Human Services Council pursuant to a Joint Powers Agreement with
the cities of Brooklyn Park, Champlin, Crystal, Golden Valley, Hasson, Maple
Grove, New Hope, Osseo, and Robbinsdale; and
WHEREAS, the role of the Northwest Hennepin Human Services Council
is to review and provide advice relative to the planning, development, and
delivery of human services in Hennepin County; and
WHEREAS, the Northwest Hennepin Human Services Council is responsible
for developing and implementing a system for involving citizens in the process
of the planning, development, and delivery of human services in Hennepin County; and
WHEREAS, it is important that the Northwest Suburban Municipalities
have an organizational link with Hennepin County for planning and funding human
services; and
III WHEREAS, the continuation of the Northwest Hennepin Human Services
Council is important to the planning, development, and delivery of human services
in Hennepin County; and
WHEREAS, the member cities in the Northwest Hennepin Human Services
Council provide substantial annual funding for the operation of the Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center that the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners is hereby
requested to continue its support for the Northwest Hennepin Human Services
Council by providing continued financial support in the County's 1982 budget.

The motion for e adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded
by member Bill Fignar, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following
voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Tony Kuefler, Gene Lhotka, and Bill Fignar;
and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said
resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
