HomeMy WebLinkAbout1980-252 CCR Member Celia Scott introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: h III RESOLUTION ND. 80 252 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF APPLICATION FOR EPA/MPCA GRANT FUNDING FOR INFILTRATION /INFLOW ANALYSIS WHEREAS, a study conducted by the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission has classified the sanitary sewer system for the City of Brooklyn Center as having an intermediate degree of Infiltration/Inflow; and WIGS, said report recommends that the City be given an opportunity to become eligible for an EPA/MPCA (90%) funded I/I analysis program; and WHEREAS, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency must certify the City as part of the program to become eligible for such funding; and WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission has been designated as the "pass- through" agency for receiving and distributing grant funds to all communities in the program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER: 1. that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to express the City's desire to participate in the Infiltration /Inflow Analysis III Program. 2. the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission is hereby requested to act as a pass- through agency for the City of Brooklyn Center for the purpose of applying for and receiving grant funding for this purpose. 3. the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency is requested to certify Brooklyn Center for eligibility in the program. 4. the Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized to execute such documents as may be required for the purpose of obtained grant fund ing for an Infiltration /Inflow analysis. October 20, 1980 (I Date A' 1.3.��i/..i/�� erk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Gene Lhotka and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Tony Kuefler, Gene Lhotka, and Celia Scott; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
