HomeMy WebLinkAbout1981-055 CCRM ember Tony Kuefler introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOUJTION NO. 81 -55 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING PETITION, ESTABLISHING WATEWAIN DYPROVIl4E� PROTECT NO. 1981 -05, SANITAPY SET�?ER IlVLPRdUI fiIT PROJECT NO. 1981 06, STORM Sa9ER IMPRM PROJECT NO. 1981 -07, AMID STREET DTROVE� PROJECT NO. 1981 -08, Al`ID ORDERIM PREPARATION OF REPORT AMID PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS 1 I WHEREAS, a petition has been sulznitted, requesting that watermain, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and street improvements be installed along Earle Brown Drive from its current terminus at the existing cul-de -sac westerly and southerly to its Westerly intersection with Summit Drive; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer has determined that additional storm sewer installation is re on easements adjacent to Earle Brown. Drive to complete the system so as to better serve the surrounding area; and he has recommended that concrete curb and gutter and street resurfacing be installed on the exist- ing portion of Earle Brown Drive from its Easterly intersection with Summit Drive to the existing cul-de -sac. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that: 1. The petition for improvements is hereby accepted. 2. The additional improvements recommended by the City Engineer are hereby initiated. 3. The following projects are hereby established: 1981 -05: Installation of Water Main Improvement on Earle Brown Drive from the westerly intersection with SuTm.it Drive to the existing watermain adjacent to the South right of-way line of Interstate Highway 94. 1981 -06: Installation of Sanitary Sewer Iirprovement on Earle Brown Drive fran its Westerly intersection with Stmmi.t Drive to the existing cul -de -sac approximately 1,800 feet Northerly of the Easterly intersection of Earle Frown Drive with Summit Drive. 1981 -07: Installation of Storm Sewer improvements on Earle Brown Drive and on easements as required to complete the system and serve the unserved areas adjacent to Earle Brown Drive from its Westerly intersection with Summit Drive to its Easterly in- tersection with Summit Drive. 1981 -08: Construction of Street Improvements consisting of concrete curb and gutter, bitunihous paving, and minor storm sewer system adjustments on Earle Brown Drive from its Westerly intersection with Summit Drive to its Easterly intersection with Summit Drive. 4. It is proposed to assess the benefited properties for all or a portion of the costs of said improvements, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 429. 5. The proposed improvements are hereby referred to the City Engineer RESOLUTION NO. 81 -55 for study, and he is instructed to report to the Council, advising the Council as to whether the proposed improvements are feasible and as to whether they should best be rrade as proposed or in con- nection with sane other improvement, and the estimated costs of the improvements as reccmnended. 6. The City Engineer is hereby designated as the Engineer for this im- provement. He shall prepare plans and specifications for the making of such improvements.
