HomeMy WebLinkAbout1980-084 CCRMember Bill Fignar introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 80 -84 RESOLUTION DECLARING THE WEEK OF APRIL 20TH, 1980 AS BROOKLYN CENTER LIONS WEEK WHEREAS, twenty -five years ago on April 15th the Brooklyn Center Lions Club was formed; and WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center Lions Club is well known throughout the community for its efforts of charity, goodwill and community services; and WHEREAS, honesty, fairness, and community services has been the trademark of the Brooklyn Center Lions Club since its formation; and WHEREAS, the Lions Club has shown leadership in business and the community affairs of Brooklyn Center by its memberships representation on many civic boards. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that it hereby congratulates the Brooklyn Center Lions Club on its twenty -fifth anniversary and makes these congratulations official by declaring the week of April 20th, 1980 to be Brooklyn Center Lions Week. April 7, 1980 Date Mayor' ATTEST: Deputy Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Tony Kuefler and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar, Gene Lhotka, and Celia Scott; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
