HomeMy WebLinkAbout1980-143 CCRNlennber Bill Fignar introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 80_143 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING PARKS IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 1980 -16 AND ORDERING PREPARATION OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS WHEREAS, on May 19, 1980, the City Council declared that the referendum questions addressed in the Special Election of May 6, 1980, had been resolved in the affirmative; and WHEREAS, a portion of said referendum questions dealt with improve- ments to neighborhood parks in the form of parking lots, pedestrian/bicycle trails, basketball and volleyball courts, tennis ball walls and park lighting; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it necessary to initiate Parks Improvement Project No. 1980 -16 in order to implement the issues addressed in the referendum questions. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, to direct the City Engineer to prepare plans and specifications for said improvement project described as follows: 1980 -16: Park Improvements Construction of parking lots, pedestrian/bicycle trails, basketball and volleyball courts, tennis ball walls, and park lighting in the following neighborhood parks within the City of Brooklyn Center: Bellvue, Lion's, Riverdale, Firehouse, East Palmer Lake, Freeway, Orchard Lane, Brooklane, Happy Hollow, Twin Beach, Grandview, Ever- green, West Palmer Lake, Willow Lane, Kylawn, and Northport. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Treasurer is hereby directed to encumber the amount of $573,320.00 from the Capital Projects Fund (Fund No. 25) for construction of this work. t June 23, 1980 Date Mater ATTEST: The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Celia Scott and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Bill Fignar, Gene Lhotka, and Celia Scott; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
