HomeMy WebLinkAbout1980-148 CCRMember Celia Scott introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 80 -148 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING ARBORETUM EAPRUVEMS T PROJECT NO. 1980-20 AND ORDERING PREPARATION CF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS WHEREAS, on May 19, 1980, the City Council declared that the referen- dum questions addressed in the Special Election of May 6, 1980, had been resolved in the affirmative; and WHEREAS, a portion of said referendum questions dealt with improvements to the Arboretum in the form of grading, fencing, landscaping, pedestrian/bicycle trails, pedestrian/bicycle bridge, service road, parking lot, lighting, benches and miscellaneous items; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it necessary to initiate Arboretum Improvement Project No. 1980 -20 in order to implement the issues addressed in the referendum questions. NOW, RMEF' ORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, to direct the City Engineer to prepare plans and specifications for said improvement project described as follows: 1980 -20: Arboretum Improvements Construction of grading, fencing, landscaping, pedestrian/bicycle trails, pedestrian/bicycle bridge, service road, parking lot, light- ing, benches and miscellaneous items in the Arboretum. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Treasurer is hereby directed to encumber the amount of $210,000.00 from the Capital Projects Fund (Fund No. 25) for construction of this work. June 23, 1980 Date Mayor ATTEST: Clete The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Bill Fignar and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Bill Fignar, Gene Lhotka, and Celia Scott; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
