HomeMy WebLinkAbout1980-042 CCRMember Tony Kuefler introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 80 -42 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING USE OF ALERT J3A PORTABLE BREATH TEST UNITS WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota, Department of Public Safety has made available to the City of Brooklyn Center the use of ALERT J3A portable breath testing units on a loan basis. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that the City of Brooklyn Center enter into an agreement with the State of Minnesota, Department of Public Safety for the following purpose,to -wit: To provide authority for the City of Brooklyn Center to receive from the State of Minnesota, Department of Public Safety, ALERT J3A portable breath test unit or units on a loan basis. The unit or units are to be used by City law enforcement officers to assist them in the detection of motorists who may be in violation of Minnesota Statutes, Section 169.121. 1 I BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that its Mayor and City Manager be and they hereby are authorized to execute such agreement. January 28, 1980 Date ATTEST: Clerk Mayor The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Celia Scott and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar, Gene Lhotka, and Celia Scott, and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
