RESOLUTION NO. 79 -201
RESOLUTION REQUESTING AREA LEGISLATORS TO SPONSOR LEGISLATION TO
AUTHORIZE SEWER SERVICE DISCOUNTS FOR HANDICAPPED PERSONS AND FOR
LOW- INCOME PERSONS

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, as a matter
of social equity, desires to have the authority to fix a schedule of sewer
charges which includes discounted rates for handicapped persons and for persons
on low income.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center that all area legislators are hereby requested to sponsor legis-
lation which will authorize cities to adopt schedules of sewer charges which
incorporate sewer service discounts for handicapped persons and for persons on
low incomes.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
member Bill Fignar and upon vote being taken thereon, the follow-
ing voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Bill Fignar, Gene Lhotka, and
Celia Scott;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
