and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 79 -266
RESOLUTION AMENDING THE 1979 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO PROVIDE
FOR WAGE AND SALARY ADJUSTMENTS
WHEREAS, Section 7.08 of the City Charter of the City of Brooklyn
Center does provide that the City Council may, by majority vote of its members,
transfer unencumbered appropriation balances from one office, department or
agency to another within the same Fund; and
WHEREAS, on September 27, 1978, the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center adopted a budget for the calendar year 1979; and
WHEREAS, when said budget was adopted, 1979 salaries and wages for
most employees had not been set; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did appropriate funds for departmental
labor in the amount of $165,000 to Unallocated Departmental Expense (Dept. #80)
to provide funds for final 1979 salary and wage settlements; and
WHEREAS, on March 12, 1979, the City Council did adopt Resolution
No. 79 -69 which agreed to terms and conditions of employment in a 1979 -80
collective bargaining agreement with Local #320, Minnesota Teamsters Public
and Law Enforcement Employees Union.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center to transfer $42,981 from the following Unallocated Departmental
Expense (Dept. #80) appropriations:
01 -4100 Salaries, Regular Employees $37,440
01 -4143 PERA Police 4,125
01 -4151 Hospitalization Insurance 1,416
$42,981
to the following Police Protection Department CDept. #31) appropriations:
01 -4100 Salaries, Regular Employees $35,440
01 -4112 Salaries, Overtime 2,000
01 -4143 PERA Police 4,125
01 -4151 Hospitalization Insurance 1,416
$42,981

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded
by member Celia Scott and upon vote being taken thereon,
the following voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Tony Kuefler, Bill
Fignar, Gene Lhotka, and Celia Scott;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
