HomeMy WebLinkAbout1997 10-29 CHCMBROOKLYN CENTER CHARTER COMMISSION MINUTES OF OCTOBER 29, 1997 See attached meeting minutes from the joint City Council and Charter Commission meeting. At 8:25 p.m. the Charter Commission meeting continued. Approval of minutes Motion was made by Walter Bursch, seconded by Carl Wolters, to approve the minutes of June 25, 1997. Motion passed unanimously. Chair Tim Willson noted that there were now two vacancies on the commission. Ted Willard had filled his two term position from June 1990 to December 1997 we will discuss a service award for him at the January 98 meeting). Philip Juaire who joined the commission in May 1997 had indicated to Chair Willson that he had resigned. Chair Willson said that he would follow through with Phil Juaire on getting a letter of resignation to Judge Mabley. Rod Synder said that he would get a letter in the Post of the current vacancies. The Commission instructed Chair Willson to query neighboring communities regarding the administrative support structure of their Charter Commissions. Audit Chairperson Nancy Carlson distributed copies of the audit report. The report indicated that 1997 remaining balance was at $835.39. Sy Knapp moved that there be no November 1997 meeting. Motion passed. Volunteers were requested to serve on the sub committee for annual nominations to recommend candidates for election to Charter Offices.
