MINUTES

CITY HALL
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Mary Heitzig at 7:01 P.M.
ROLL CALL
Members present: Allen Anderson, Marie Castle, Ben Chatelle, Edward
Conmers, Mary Heitzig, Mona Hintzman, Dennis Kueng,
Everett Lindh, Jean Schiebel, and Neil Smeaton
Members absent and excused: Ron Christensen, Donn Escher, Tony Kuefler,
John Lescault, Barb Sexton
Members absent and unexcused: None
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Notion by Jean Schiebel, seconded by Dennis Kueng to approve the minutes of
May 25, 1988 as presented. Motion passed unanimously.
CORRESPONDENCE
Chairperson Heitzig stated that a letter to Betsy Dick, Brooklyn Center
Post editor, was sent informing her of tonight's Charter Commission
meeting. Ms. Dick was ai-i--;o requested to put an article in the paper
regarding persons/organizations who want minutes/agendas of our meetings to
contact the City Hall.
Letters Chief Judge Lindberg state that Edward Commers and Tony
Kuefler have been reappointed to another four year term (terms expiring 9-
18- 1`92). Mr. Commers cannot be reappointed in 1992, as this is his second
four year term,
Chairperson Heitzig received a response from City Manager, Gerald Splinter,
regarding legislative changes that affect the Charter Commission, The
administrative assistant will make copies of the change in Chapter 51 for
everyone and mail them with these minutes.

NEW BUSINESS
+Xembership Roster Update
If anyone has changes in their address or phone number (particularily their
to work phone), please contact the administrative assistant.
+Qjty Article Deadline
The administrative assistant informed the Charter Commission that October
28 is the deadline for getting in an article to City Hall for the next City
Newsletter, It was felt that the article should contain information about
obtaining Charter Commission minutes and agendas and also about the
upcoming vacancies on the Charter Commission, Donn Escher and Jean
Schiebel will be ending their appointments on December 1, 1988, Verifi-
cation an John Lescault's appointment termination is being awaited from the
Chief Judge's office at this time.
Chairperson Nary Heitzig also stated that an item about our vacancies
should also be printed in the Brooklyn Center Post.
NEXT MEETING DATE
The next Charter Commission meeting will be held on Vednesday, November 30,
1988, at 7 P, M,
Notion by Ed Commers, seconded by Jean Schiebel, to adjourn the meeting at
7,21 P.M, Motion passed unanimously.
