Minutes of the Proceedings of the
BROOKLYN-CENTER CHARTER COMMISSION
taedndgday, May 25, 1977
Present: Commissioners Betty,Johftson, James Gillen, Rich Higgins, Frank Kampmeyer,
Phyllis Papke, Ed Theisen, Robert DeVries and Vince Tubman were present.
Absent: Commissioners Vi Kanatz (out of town), Mona Hintzman (conflict), Cheryl
Asplund, William Hannay, Barbara Swart, Orlander Nelson and Mildred
Hendrickx (moved to Anoka).
Change in Rules of Procedure: A quorum not being ptesent, no fiction was taken.
Discussion centered on how to handle vacancies on the charter commissic
Commissioner Mildred Hendrickx has resigned creating a vacancy. All
applicants will fill out the same resume' to be sent to the judges.
Executive Committee will interview all names that come to the Charter
Commission. Commissioner Papke suggested that it be made plain that
people can apply directly to the chief judge. Commissioner DeVries wants
more amplification of the rules. The charter commission won't make
recommendations unless a comment is added. All names will be submitted
to the chief judge.
