TIr3E PLACE: The Brooklyn Center Charter Commission met at the Village Hall,
7100 Osseo Road at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12 1966.
THOSE MSEITT: William Arrell, Elizabeth Bush, Henry Dorff,
Marie Erickson, Quentin Gustafson, Robert Johnson,
Barbara Swart, Virginia Teach, Wilfred Zalaznik,
and John Winkelman. Joseph Barnes arrived at 8:56 p.m.
Raymond Matthys arrived at 9:15 p.m.
THOSE ABSENT: Arth.ar eallaker4 Charles Nichols, and Ward Whalen.
The meeting was called to order at 8:04 p.m. by Chairman William Arrell.
It was reported that Joe Barnes would be late. Roll call was taken.
Motion was made by John Winkelman and seconded by Will Zalaznik that the
minutes of the June 28, 1966 meeting be accepted as submitted. Motion
carried unanimously.
Marie Erickson, of the Public Relations Committee reported that an article
will =bear in the neat issue of the Brooklyn Center Press. Marie Erickson
set up a meeting for the Chairman at 1 :00 p.m. on Thursday, July 14, 1966.
Discussion was held as to whether the proposed charter would be ready for
the November election. It was generally agreed that the tentative calendar
previously set up would be followed.
Henry Dorff began review of Chapter 7 Section 7.08.

or personal, corporeal or incorporeal on line 3.
Motion was made by John Winkelman and seconded by Gus Gustafson that line 3
of Section 9.01.be approved as corrected. Motion carried unanimously.
Section 9.02 remove part of '11.ne 29 r.m. line 11.
Iotion w s m ,-de by Barbara Swart and seconded by Marie Erickson that part of
line 29 and line 31 be removed. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion was made by Ray Matthys and seconded by Marie Erickson that line 21
of Section 9.04 read 'all expenses incurred'. 3 in favor, 8 opposed,
1 abstained. Motion failed.
Section 9.04 stands approved as reviewed.

Motion was made by Henry Dorff and seconded by Bob Johnson for special order
of business. Motion carried unanimously.

The Chairman suggested that all civic organizations be contacted by the
Commission members for public relations.
Motion was made by John Winkelman and seconded by Will Zalaznik that the
meeting be adjourned. Motion carried unanimously. "he meeting adjourned
