TIkr PLACE: The Brooklyn Center Charter Commission met at the
Tillage Hall, 7100 Osseo Poad at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday,
October (n 1965.
THOS PRE,S77,T: William Arrell, Joseph Barnes, Arthur Callahan, Henry Dorff,
Marie Erickson, Raymond Matthys, Charles Nichols, BaVjara Swart,
Ward Whalen, Elizabeth Bush. Quentin Gustafson and
Robert Johnson arrived at 8:05 p.m. Wilfred Zalaznik
arrived at 8:10 p.m..
THOSE ABSENT: Robert Puncochar, Virginia Tesch.
The meeting was called to order. at $:01 p.m. by Chairman Bill Arrell«
The Chairman reported that Virginia Teach and Will Zalasnik would not be
present tonight. Roll call was taken.
Motion was made by Chuck Nichols and seconded by Marie Erickson that the
minutes of the October 1965 meeting be approved as submitted, Motion
carried unanimously. 0
Gus Gustafson, Chairman of the Public Relations Committee reported that an
article appeared in the paper regarding Mrs, Elizabeth Bush, the new
commission member, Mr. Gustafson also stated there should be a clarification
as to the handling of publicity for the Charter Commission. publicity should
be check through the public relations chairman and submitted to the executive
committee for final anoroval.
Henry Dorff reported for Section B and discussion was held on Chapter 6
Sections 6.04 through 6.06.
Will Zalaznik and Marie Erickson asked to be excused at 9:10 p.m.
Ward v'nnalen reported for Section C and discussion was held on Chapter 11
Sections 11.01 through 11.04.
Motion was made by Henry Dorff and seconded by Joe Barnes for special order
of business. Motion passed unanimously.
Ward Whalen continued his report and discussion was held on Chapter 11,
Section 21.05.
The Chairman suggested that the heads of the sections get together and
attempt to catalog material to present to MaCle1 Hyde.
PZotion was made by Art Callahan and seconded by Jos Barnes that the meeting
be adjourned. Motion passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 10:40.
