HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965 09-28 CHCMMINUTES OF TEL BROOKLYN CENTER CHARTER COMMISSION TIME PLACE: The Brooklyn Center Charter Commission met at the Village Hall, 7100 Osseo Road at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday September 28, 1965. THOSE PPE'SESIT: William Arrell, Arthur Callahan, Henry Dorff, Marie Erickson, Quentin Gustafson, Barbara Swart, Virginia Tesch. Raymond Matthys arrived at 8:02 p.m., Joseph Barnes arrived at 8:14 o.m.., Robert Johnson arrived at 8:30 p.m., Robert Puncoohar arrived at 8 :45 p.m. and Wilfred 3alaznik arrived at 9 :10 p.m. THOSE ABSENT: Charles Nichols, Ward Whalen. The meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by Chairman William Arrell, The Chairman reported that Ward Whalen would not be present and Robert Puncochar, Wilfred Zalaznik and. Robert Johnson would be late. A quorum was not present and the minutes of the September 14th meeting were dispensed frith until a quorum would be present. The Chairman read a letter from the Fourth District Court accepting Mrs. Betsy Bush as a member of the Commission and reported that Mrs. Bush was unable to attend the meeting tonight. Mr. Gustafson, Chairman of the Public Relations Committee, reported that Mary Hart of the Minneapolis Star and Tribune is going to contact Virginip Tesch for an interview. He also reported that he and other members of the Commission met before the meeting tonight and had started on a report for the Brooklyn Center Press. Barbara Swart reported that Section C had met and she gave their report on Chapter 9, Sections 9.01 and 9.02. A quorum was received at 8:14 p.m. Motion was made by Art Callahan and seconded by Marie Erickson that the minutes of the September 14th meeting be approved as submitted. Motion carried unanimously. Barbara Swart continued her report on Section 9.02 through 9.05 and Chapter 10, Sections 10.,01 through 10.05. Bob Johnson reported that Section A had met and hp gave their report on Chapter 2, Sections 2.08 and 2.09, and Chapter 3, Sections 3.01 through 3.06. Motion was made by Will Zalaznik and seconded by Ray Matthys for special order of business. Motion carried unanimously. Bob Johnson continued his report covering Chapter 3, Sections 3.07 through 3.11. 2. Charter Commission Minutes Serote�►ber 28, 1965 Motion was made by Marie Erickson and seconded by Bob Puncochar that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried unanimously.
