HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965 07-27 CHCMMINUTES OF 1M BROOKLYN CEN'TE'R CHARTER CO14'ISSIOX TIME PLACE: The Brooklyn Center Charter Commission met at the Village Hall, 7100 Osseo Road at 8 :00 g.m, on Tuesday, July 27 1965 THOSE PRESENT: William Arrell, Henry Dorff, Marie Erickson, Quentin Gustafson, Virginia Tesch, Wilfred Zalaznik. Raymond Matthys arrived at 8 :35 p.m. THOSE ABSEKT: Joseph Barnes, Arthur Callahan, Robert Johnson, Charles Nichols, Robert Puncochar, Barbara Swart, Ward Whalen. The meeting was called to order at 8:15 p.m. by Chairman William Arrell. A quorum was not present and the minutes of the July 13th meeting were dispensed with until a quorum would be present. Henry Dorff reported he received the bill of $96.10 for the attache cases. The Chairman stated an attempt should be made to set up tentative committees to start on the drafting. A discussion was held concerning the chapters of the Richfield Charter compared to the Minnesota Charter. Tentative committees were set up and those not present are to choose those sections they would like to work on. Section A, Chapters 1 through 4: Virginia Tesch, Ray Matthys, Gus Gustafson, Bob Johnson. One vacancy. Section B, Chapters 5, 6, and 7: Henry Dorff, Will Zalaznik, Marie Erickson, Bill Arrell. One vacancy. Section C, Chapters 8 through 12: Open Mr. Dave Kennedy will be here at the August 10th meeting. MaClay Hyde was present and discussed 1965 legislation which will be taking effect in January, 1966. It will have a bearing on the drafting of the charter which has to do with planning and zoning. He thought it advisable to compare other charters.
