HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965 04-13 CHCM9 MINUTES OF THE BROOKLYN CENTER CHARTER COMMISSION MEETING TIME PLACE: The Brooklyn Center Charter Commission met at the Village Hall, 7100 Osseo Road at 8 :00 PM. on Tuesday, April 13, 1965. THOSE PRESENT: William Arrell, Joseph Barnes, Marie Erickson, Quentin Gustafson, Henry Dorff, Ward Whalen, Phyllis Zeller, Charles Nichols, Virginia Tesch, Barbara Swart, Will Zalaznik, Ray Matthys, THOSE ABSENT: Art Callahan, Bob Johnson, Bob Puncochar. William Arrell, Chairman, Called the meeting to order at 8 :03 P.M. Charles Nichols moved, Ward Whalen seconded, that the minutes of the March 23 rd meeting be accepted as written. Carried unanimously. The chairman reported that he had appeared before the Citizen's Committee for Better Government on April 10th. This group had requested that he attend and give a progress report on the Brooklyn Center Charter Commission to date. The majority of the remainder of the meeting was consummed with discussions with the Police Chief, Tom O'Hehir and three of the members of his department. In attendance were Lieutenant Robert Leonard, Patrolman Robert Long, and Patrolman Paul Felegy, Charles Nichols made a motion, seconded by Marie Erickson that there be a special order of business to continue our discussions with our guests after the 10 :15 P. M. time limit. Motion carried unanimously. The discussion concluded at 10:45 P.M. Henry Dorff reported that Professor Anderson of the University of Minnesota had been contacted but could not assure he would be able to appear at our meeting of April 27th. Marie Erickson moved, Barbara Swart seconded, that we contact our Assessor, John Nordberg, and request his appearance on April 27th in the event that Professor Anderson' would be unable to attend. Motion carried unanimously. Charles Nichols moved, seconded by Marie Erickson that the meeting be adjourned at 10 :50 P.M. Carried unanimously. Respectfully submitted Phyllis Zeller Acting Secretary a
