HomeMy WebLinkAbout1964 10-27 CHCMMINUTES OF THE !�AEETING OF THE BR6O:,LYN CENTER CHARTER COMMISSION Time Place: The Brooklyn Center Chatter Commission met at the Village Hall, 7100 Osseo Road at 800 P. M. on Tuesday, October 27, 1964. Those Present: Bill Arrell, Phyllis Zeller, Joseph Barnes, Quentin Gustafson, ward Whalen, Marshall Jacobson, Marie Erickson, Barbara Swart, Wilfred Zalaznik, Robert Johnson, Arthur Callahan and Charles Nichols arrived at 8 :45. Those Absent: Virginia Tesch, Robert Puncochar, Ray Matthys. The meeting was called to order by Ward Wbalen, Vice Chairman, at 6 :07 P. M. Phyllis Zeller, Acting Secretary, read the minutes of the previous meeting. Marie Erickson moved, Bob Johnson seconded the motion that the minutes be approved as read. Carried unanimously. Chairman, Bill Arrell, read the letter written to Will Zalaznik from Judge Rolf Fosseen notifying him of his appointment to the Charter Commission. The Chair- man instructed the Secretary to write Mr. Donn Escher, thanking him for his work on the Charter Commission, and notifying him that Will Zalaznik has been appointed to replace him. Quentin Gustafson, Public Relations Committee Chairman reported that he had been informed by Vera Green that our pictures and profiles would be in the Brooklyn Center Press beginning with the November 4th issue if space permitted. If adequate space were not available in that issue she assured Mr. Gustafson that they would be published in the November Ilth issue; beginning with the three officers and using three or four profiles and pictures each subsequent week. The majority of the remainder of the meeting was taken up with forming questions to present to the council at our combined meeting on November 10th. V and Whalen moved, Charles Nichols seconded the motion that copies of the questions be sent prior to our meeting to the village council, Art Lee, the iAayor and all Charter Commission members. It was felt that this would enable all parties concerned to research for the meeting. The Commission also studied Chapter 11 Liquor Ordinances of the Village of Brooklyn Center. Art Callahan moved, Joseph Barnes seconded the motion that we adjourn the meeting. Carried unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 10:30 P. M. Respectfully Submitted, Phyllis Zeller Acting Secretary
