CONFERENCE ROOM A Present: Beverly Wolfe, Tim Willson, Eileen Oslund., Myrna Kragness, Tony Kuefler 0 Absent: Robert Nickelson Also present: Carole Blowers, Admini�trative Assistant The meeting was called to order at 1:1:1 p, m. by Chair Tony Kuefler. Chair Kuefler sump-arized the Councilmembers' manor comments on this part of the charter: i Need clarification of when does a vacancy occur? 2, What. is :meant by "adequate public notice?" 3. In light of the above comments/concerns, the sub committee worked on revised spelling for the rough draft wording prepared by Tim Willson on Section 2.05 and. are su-mmrized below: Se, x.. Paragraph 2, (3b) changed to read: A public minimum uniform standard list of questions shall be asked of each applicant. Additional new questions not found in the standard list of questions may be asked of the applicants Burin y the interview by the council members. Each council person may cast one vote only for a preferred applicant on each called for vote to appoint. Written ballots listing the applicants shall be used. Applicants receiving votes continue in the process. Each council person's vote shall be recorded. A -imple majority of the council votes, on a called for vote to appoint shall appoint that applicant to the City Council. Section 2.05b, change first two sentences to read: If the unexpired term of the council vacancy is one year or longer, or if the City Council fails to appoint within 45 days when appli-1 or the City Council has called for a Special Election, a special election shall be called by the City Clerk.
