BROOKLYN CENTER CHARTER COMMISSION
ANNUAL REPORT
19901.
The full Brooklyn Center Charter Commission met seven times during 1990. The Annual
Meeting was held January 24, 1990. The following officers were elected:
Chairperson Barbara Sexton
Vice Chairperson Mona Hintzman
Secretary Beverly Wolfe
The following appointments were made by the chairperson:
Audit Allen Anderson
Public Relations Edward Commers
Rules /Parliamentarian Ron Christensen
EverettLindh was reappointedto another four year term, with his second term expiring
on January 14, 1994. The terms of Dennis Kueng, and Neil Smeaton expired during 1990.
Ted L. Willard, Susan G. Warner, and David Hildebrandt were appointed to their first
full four year terms on the commission. At the close of 1990, the Charter Commission
has fifteeen members, a full commission.
Budget revisions, section 7.06 of the charter was amended and sent to the City
Council which approved the amendment at its first reading.
Council meetings, section 3.01 of the charter was sent to the City Council and the
City Council returned it for rewriting.
Vacancies on the council, section 2.05 and section 2.05A were sent to the City Council
and the City Council returned the amendment to the Charter Commission. The City
Council does not approve of a Special Election to fill a vacancy on the City Council.
